Eaton Aerospace Ltd. has been an established supplier of electrical and electronic equipment for Aerospace and ground applications for over 50 years with a product range covering electrical power generation, conversion, management and utilisation. Primary developments today include new generation systems, particularly in the field of military vehicle APUs, specialised motors and associated controllers, and power management systems.

Power generation equipment has been supplied to such diverse applications as the Hawk Aircraft, the BAE SYSTEMS RJ, the Phoenix RPV, the Challenger MBT and the Spearfish Torpedo. A number of military vehicle APU programmes are currently under development based on the experience gained from the Challenger MBT APU and earlier engine generator set products.

Current motor developments are focused on addressing applications where new aircraft power supplies are being considered i.e. variable frequency ac or high voltage dc. These motors invariably require electronic control. Along with these developments further iterations of the more traditional dc commutator motor or 400Hz induction motor are undertaken as required.

The Intelligent Power Control System technology has been designed to replace conventionally wired electrical power distribution in land and air platforms with a modern, intelligent, data bus based system providing control, monitoring and protection of electrical sub-systems.
